Privacy Policy — Sunward Watch Face

Effective 19 October 2026 · Contact: me@bukowskaii.com

Summary

Sunward Watch Face does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data. It contains no application code, no network access and no analytics.

Why this policy is short

A Watch Face Format face is a resource-only package. It is a set of images and an XML description of how to draw them; the manifest declares android:hasCode="false", and the published bundle contains no executable code at all. The watch's own system software reads that description and draws the dial.

There is therefore no part of this app that is capable of collecting information, opening a network connection, or sending anything anywhere.

Weather and battery

The face shows the current weather, the day's forecast and the battery level. The watch's operating system supplies these to the watch face system, which draws them where the face describes. Weather comes from the weather app already on your watch; the face does not look up your location or contact any weather service. Nothing is retained, copied or transmitted.

Complications

The face can display complications, the small readings in the dial's two slots, such as step count, sunrise and sunset, or date.

That data is produced by other applications on the watch and supplied to the watch face system by the operating system, at your request, when you choose a provider for a slot. The face describes where on the dial to draw the value. It does not receive that data into any code of its own, and does not retain, copy or transmit it. Nothing is written to storage, and nothing leaves the watch.

To stop a reading being displayed, set that complication slot to empty in the watch face editor.

Notifications

A small badge on the dial shows how many notifications you haven't read. The operating system supplies that number to the watch face system, and only the number: the face never sees who a notification is from or what it says, keeps nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

Permissions

The package declares one permission:

PermissionPurpose
RECEIVE_COMPLICATION_DATAAllows the system to deliver complication values for display

No sensor permissions are requested. The face does not hold BODY_SENSORS, BODY_SENSORS_BACKGROUND or ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION, and cannot read a sensor of any kind. Step count and similar readings are measured by their own provider apps, which hand a finished value to the system; the face receives only that value, to draw it.

Children

This app is not directed at children and contains nothing directed at children.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be published at this address, with the effective date updated.
